| Ron
has worked in senior management positions in the mental
health, developmental services and seniors sectors as
well as management positions within municipal government
and the province of Ontario. He received the Bachelor
of Arts Degree from McGill University; Diploma in Institutional
Administration from Concordia University and Master
of Public Administration from Western University. Ron
has also completed additional studies in child care
work, gerontology, public speaking, teaching techniques,
accounting, organizational development, marketing, project
management and group process.
Ron has an interest in the democratic
process in the work setting and civic life. His post
graduate diploma and Master's research projects have
examined the participatory process in government and
organizations. Ron applies his belief in transparency
and the democratic process to his work.
Ron's superior written and oral communication
skills are demonstrated in his accomplishments as
a public speaker and author of numerous reports and
studies. He has been published in Municipal World
Magazine, the Journal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice,
Long Term Care Magazine and several other not for
profit sector publications. Ron also wrote a weekly
column for seniors.
Ron is active in civic affairs
and volunteer work. He has been a soccer coach, amateur
actor, Jaycee, Rotarian, board member and executive
member of various not for profit organizations and
a member of Amnesty International. Ron has been with
Toastmasters International for ten years, serving
as President and filling other executive positions.
He is currently completing his Toastmaster Gold designation.
